Chief Marshal Bob Dalley, De Beque Marshal’s Department, CO ~ bdalley@debeque.org ~ 970.589.6017

My name is Bob Dalley, and I currently serve as the Chief Marshal for the De Beque Marshal’s Department. My career in public service began as a volunteer firefighter while waiting impatiently to reach the age required to attend a law enforcement academy. During that time, I transitioned into full-time fire and EMS work and later attended the first Mesa County Sheriff’s Academy in 1989–1990.

After graduating from the academy, I continued serving full-time as a Fire Chief while also becoming a partner in an investigations company specializing in fire and fraud investigations. During those years, I worked as a Reserve and Part-Time Deputy Sheriff while intermittently attending Mesa State College.

After 14 years with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department, I joined the Palisade Police Department, where I served for nine years and promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

After leaving Palisade, I began my work with the De Beque Marshal’s Department, where I serve as Chief Marshal. Throughout my career, I have been blessed to work in many different areas of law enforcement, including patrol, administration, school resource officer duties (still the best assignment of all), civil process, and court operations. As chief, one of my core responsibilities now is hiring people smarter than me and listening carefully to their advice.

I have been married for 28 years and have four children we sometimes claim. I have always been passionate about learning, personal growth, and finding ways to improve both professionally and personally, and I look forward to continuing that growth through this course.
