My name is Emily Warnygora, and I am an Emergency Communications Center Supervisor at St. Louis County (MN) for the 911 Division of the Sheriff’s Office. I began my career as a telecommunicator in 2002 and I was promoted to Lead dispatcher in 2011. I was promoted to one of our center supervisors in 2016 and am currently the operations supervisor within our center and share the responsibility of overseeing 43 employees.
I am a current Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO) and National Emergency Number Association (NENA) member and was part of the working group that developed Text to 911 standards for the state of Minnesota. I currently sit on the Public Safety Telecommunicators Training and Certification working group in MN as well as a working group for 988/911 collaboration and participated in the nationwide Policy Academy for 988/911 Collaboration put on by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
